Adding Leadership Value: A programme for deputy and assistant heads

Adding Leadership Value (ALV) is a six month programme aimed at developing the leadership ability of those in strategic leadership positions, to enhance their contribution to the success of their organisation.

Who is it for?

Adding Leadership Value is designed for those who have a senior level strategic leadership role in the organisation. It is also suitable for those close to this role or with sufficient experience of leading development at a senior level, for example a head of a large department or an organisation-wide strategic project lead. So they can fully engage with the programme they should meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • be a member of the senior leadership team
  • have strategic responsibility across the organisation
  • be head of a large department

They should also have the endorsement of their line manager that they meet one or more of these criteria.

What do I get?

Adding Leadership Value will provide you with:

  • an opportunity to become more self aware of your personal strengths, attributes and leadership potential, giving you a baseline to track your progression
  • measurable improvements in your leadership performance and in your impact on the motivation and performance of others
  • an understanding of how to develop the full range of leadership styles so that you can lead effectively in all situations
  • interaction with leaders from other organisations, exchanging best practice and gaining insights into the full range of leadership practice

On successfully completing the programme you will receive a certificate from CEL, The University of Manchester - one of the top ten European universities.

The cost of ALV is £750 per participant inclusive of VAT.
