Preparation for Leadership: Taking the first step
Preparation for Leadership (PfL) provides an insight into leadership and management for those who are about to take their first step on the leadership ladder.
Leadership at this level is generic to any organisation or enterprise so this five week programme is suitable for all sectors.
Who is it for?

Participants will:
- have just taken on responsibility for a project or area of work that requires them to work with others
- have had little or no previous leadership or management training
- want to know more about what leadership means and what it looks like at this level

- an opportunity to interact with other new leaders and understand a range of leadership styles
- an appreciation of the skills you need to work productively with others
- an insight into how your leadership can improve the results in your area of responsibility
- an understanding of where to focus your energy to improve your leadership performance, taking account of your strengths and the areas you need to develop
On successfully completing the programme you will receive a certificate from CEL, The University of Manchester - one of the top ten European universities.

Reviews
"PfL made me stop and think about my role. Until someone asks you about what you do and puts it into context for you, you don’t always realise that you are a leader. As we started going through the day I realised I already had a leadership role in school. This acknowledgement of my role gave me a real boost. PfL raised my enthusiasm, opened up new ideas for me and inspired me for the future. Instead of bobbing along every day, I have realised there is more I can do to improve the way we work in school."
